As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project. If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

I used Zva flowers, leaves and crystals to embellish this vintage layout.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 2nd on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Zva's blog as well. (We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. )

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

Special Graphic 45 Announcement!

Hello everyone!

As many of you know, I am currently on the 2011-2012 Graphic 45 design team and I have loved every minute.  I can't believe how fast the year has flown by.

Well I received a wonderful surprise invite from the wonderful Graphic 45 family asking me to join them as a Special Project Designer. I happily accepted and I am honored to be a part of this fantastic company.

The decision to continue with Graphic 45 was not a hard one at all.  The very sight and touch of their unique papers inspires me to be a better crafter.

It is from these papers that I was inspired to create this vintage layout titled "Head Dress".

The Olde Curiosity Shoppe collection is loaded with gorgeous vintage images and patterns.  This photo spoke to me as soon as I saw it and I knew it was perfect for these papers.

I used delicate, translucent flowers along with crystals on the left side of my photo. Using my photo as inspiration, I added feathers throughout my floral arrangement. To finish my design, I used the Sew Ribbon system to add brown velvet ribbon to the bottom of my page

Graphic 45 Papers:  Olde Curiosity Shoppe Mercurial Masterpiece, Optical Oddities

Guest Designer - Colorful Creations

Hey everyone!

I have to say, it's been a fabulous scrappy week and I have another fun layout to share.  I was asked to be a guest designer for Colorful Creations.  They sent me a lovely sketch and asked me to create a layout.

I used the gorgeous color palette of the new Teresa Collins collection to bring out the beauty of my black and white photo.  I wanted to keep my design simple so I used  a limited amount of embellishments.

Here is the terrific sketch they sent to me....

Hello everyone!

I have had one crafty weekend!  It's a rainy Sunday morning and I have just finished using the last piece of paper from the April Swirlydoos "Whispers of Spring" kit.

I entered two fun challenges over at Swirlydoos.  The sketch and card challenges.  Below is a photo of the gorgeous sketch that accompanied the kit.

I turned the sketch upside down to create my page.

The kit included gorgeous glitter paper which I used for my circle, matting and peek-a-boo areas.  the lettering is by Webster's Pages.

The kit also included these gorgeous tiles which are from Prima's Almanac collection.  The sweet butterflies were also in the kit and are made by Petaloo.

I was going to pleat my paper to create a fun area on my page, but I ran out of paper.  So, like any good scrapbooker would do... I used my scraps!  I cut 3/4" x 3" strips, inked the edges and glued them to my page.  I really like how it turned out.

Hello everyone!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning and I just felt like scrappin'! lol.

I am loving my new Swirlydoos kit and the new Prima Almanac collection.  I took my inspiration from one of the tags in the paper collection.  I loved the horse image and the sentiment.  I found the perfect photo and a beautiful soft pink lace doily.

I added journaling to the side of my photo along with a sweet little chipboard die cut that says "playing."  I matted my photo using black paper and I trimmed it with my scallop edge scissors.

Here is a close up of the tag and sentiment.  I just love it!  You can also see the gorgeous lace detail.

Finally, here is a photo showing the flower cluster that I placed in the bottom corner of my photo.  The Prima brance is lovely and I sprinkled in Prima flowers and pretty little rosebuds that came in the kit.

New Craft Room! Still a Work in Progress

Hi everyone!

I have been busy, busy, busy setting up my new craft room.  In February I began moving my room from the basement to my top floor to gain natural light. I didn't have windows in my former craft area and that is one feature that I really wanted for my new space.

My room is still a work in progress and there are many changes to come.  I am having cushions made for my chairs (one of which is in the left corner of the photo above) to match my decor.

New cornices are being made for my windows which will allow even more light to come in as the curtains you see will be become a table skirt for my new cloffice (closet/office) area.  Did you know that a few years ago my coworker submitted the word "cloffice" to Webster's Dictionary?  Yep, and they sent her a certificate.   Hmmm, I wonder if it ever appeared in print?

Please excuse the wires! lol

Here is the new cloffice, but it is far from finished.  Please excuse the wires. lol.  I am having a black and white skirt made in a few weeks and I will be painting the inside walls of the area.  This was a closet which still has the builders paint!  I just never thought to paint it when my clothes were in here. lol.

My husband made and installed shelves for me which I have to paint.  I still haven't decided on what color to paint the walls or if it will be wallpapered.  Decisions, decisions.

I have two file cabinets and my sewing machine under the desk.  I don't use the filing cabinets on a daily basis (they hold business papers, etc) so this is a good place for them for now.

Here are my cubes which were in my old space.  I have 15 and that is my limit.  I scaled down my supplies and now everything fits into my current storage units.  No craft hoarding for me!
It was important for me to have wall space for actual art and not supply units.

I gave my Making Memories embellishment center (wall unit) to a fellow crafter.  I know she will love it in her new craft area.  I also gave away my Clip it Up by Simply Renee.  I had stopped using it about a year ago and I knew my cousin would love to have it in her new space.  I am a believer in sharing the wealth and I had alot of great storage units that worked for me when I first started crafting, but they just don't work for me now.

I moved everything from old room except for my corner desk. On the weekends I have the sun going full blast! I have thick plastic covers over the papers to help protect them from the sun's rays.  I do not keep the shades up while I am at work during the week.

This is a new addition, Madeliene the dress form.  Well, she's not new to me, but I haven't had her in my craft room in over a year.  She fits perfectly in this new space.

Another new addition is my secretary.  It is from Ikea and I put it together in the middle of the night.  I can't help it, I got excited and I didn't want to wait until morning.  It wasn't  hard, you just have to take your time.

Here's a shot of the doors opened.  My daughter uses the desk to do computer work when she is home from college.  While she is away, I store my typewriter inside.

I hope you enjoyed this quick peek into my craft room.  I will give updates from time to time as I finish up the room.

Thanks so much for joining me today.

I trimmed my page using my pearl pen.  The lovely little butterfly was included in the kit and is made by Petaloo.

Here is a close up shot of the lovely Prima flowers.  I tucked a flourish from my stash below the flowers.

Angel - Zva Creative

Hello everyone!

Today's project features the beautiful patterned papers of Anna Griffin along with gorgeous Zva crystals and mini roses.

I used several Martha Stewart punches to create layers and layers of borders.

Here is a close up of the punch work.  I used three punches to create my layers.  This is a quick and easy way to create elegant custom embellishments to your page.

I used alphas from Webster's Pages to create my page title.  The die cut oval is from the Ephemera pack from Pink Paislee's London Market collection.  I used foam squares to nestle the die cut within the flowers.

I love using 3-D stickers and here I added 3-D flowers which creates a stunning floral cluster.

I added a single crystal flourish to my photo to break up the white space.  I used a busy pattern to create my layout and by adding the flourish to the white space of the photo, it allows the crystals to shine!

Zva Creative Supplies:  CRS-02CB-112 (Flourish Crystal - Lime); FLBK-03CB-102 (Mini Rose - Pink)

Other Supplies:  Patterned Paper (Anna Griffin - Cecile Collection); Punches (Martha Stewart Crafts); Adhesives (Scotch 700 ATG, Helmar's 450 Quick Dry); Tag (Pink Paislee - London Market Collection - Ephemera); 3D Floral Stickers (Anna Griffin - Cecile Collection)

Journey - Zva Creative

Hello everyone!

I thought I would try out my new Martha Stewart Twirl Loop punches on this layout featuring Zva Creative flowers and pearls.

I used Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology and London Market collections to create my layout.  I trimmed my photo using pearl lines, then I added a cluster of flowers to the lower left corner of my photo.

Here is a close up of the flowers as well as the punch work. The sheet with music notes is also from the London Market collection, as well as the journaling tag.

I love the banner pieces from the London Market Collection.  They are maps and have images of Virginia which is where I live.  Perfect!
