Swirlydoos May Kit Reveal!

The May kit from Swirlydoos is definitely hot!  Reds, Grays and Black mix together to give you La vie en Rose.

The papers had a musical theme which was perfect for photos of my daughter.  My daugher is a guitarist and artist.  The musical notes and artsy paper were made for the photo above.  This is one of my favorite photos of my daughter.  I remember her buying her first electric guitar.  What an accomplishment.  She is a saver, a trait that she did not inherit from her dear old mom!

This layout is based on this month's sketch created by our very own Beggahuna.  Beggahuna never ceases to amaze me with her creativity.

The mask was the perfect backdrop for the layout.  I used Fired Brick Distress Ink as I am not a huge fan of glimmer mist on paper.  The ink makes the image appear clean and crisp.  The beautiful red blooms are from Petaloo.  I used my stash of Creative Imaginations Black Velvet Floral Brads for my flower centers.  The beautiful whispy vines are from Dusty Attic, my favorite new place for chipboard.

Thanks for joining me today.  I will be busy preparing for National Scrapbook Day on Saturday, so I will be missing in action for a few days.  I will be back soon with more goodies to share.

These are truly beautiful words.

Would you believe that this card was created using scraps? One of my design teams used American Crafts and Little Yellow Bicycle in the months of March and April. The papers and embellishments were awesome. I just could not throw out even the tiniest piece of paper from these collections.

I recently bought thousands of 3-D stickers from one of my favorite artists Ms. Anna Griffin. You will be seeing quite a few cards from me using her beautiful titles and floral stickers. I don’t know anyone who can make a sticker into a work of art as beautifully as she does.

Supply List:
Patterned Papers: My Little Yellow Bicycle, K and Company
Title Sticker: Anna Griffin
Fabric Rose Trim: American Crafts
Flowers: Prima
Ink: Colorbox Coffee Bean
Corner Rounder: Creative Memories
Scor Tape
Stickles – Fruit Punch

Thanks for joining me today.

My Love

I am loving the new Lush collection from My Mind's Eye.  The beautiful patterns inspired this card.  The design is very simple with only one embellishment.  I used a 3-D sticker from Anna Griffin's Cecile collection.

1. Create a 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base.
2. Cut a solid piece of cardstock to 4 1/4 x 4.  Adhere to card base.
3 .Cut a patterned piece of paper to 4 x 3 3/4.  Adhere to cardstock.
4. Adhere sentiment sticker to the center of card.

Thanks for joining me today.

"Down by the Sea" - Swirlydoos April Kit

The beautiful papers in the April Swirlydoos kit made my jaw drop.  The patterned used for this layout is "Awning" from The Robin's Nest.  The beautiful blues immediately made me think of the beach.

The 3-D title sticker is from Anna Griffin's Calisto collection.  While it wasn't included in the kit, it was perfect for the layout.  I did not do any fancy techniques because the patterned paper provided plenty of embellishment.

The photo is framed with white chipboard which was included in the kit.  I chose not to alter the chipboard because I loved the clean look of the white.

Thanks for joining me today.

Lovely - Swirlydoos April Kit -"Park Avenue"

The Life's Portraits Collection from Webster's Pages is beautiful.  I love the blue, green and peach colors that are part of this line.

The April Swirlydoos kit contained journaling squares, lace, transparencies, jeweled brads and sweet blue flowers.  I used glimmer mist to color the lace.  The bird cage was cut from paper in the collection.  I then outlined the cage with a black brush tip pen.

I used lots of fun layers to create this page...and of course I had to use my Martha Stewart punch to make the design stand out.

Thanks for joining me today.

Happy Easter - MLYB - Fresh Print Clothesline Collection

Happy Easter everyone!

The April DT kit from Scrapbooks Plus was just perfect for Easter.  I have had this photo of my coworker's daughter for almost a year.  There are hundreds of Easter themed papers, but they seemed a bit too cutesy.  As soon as I saw the beautiful rich pinks in this collection I knew it was perfect for the photo.

The design for the layout is from the monthly sketch created by my fellow DT member Deborah Mahnken.
To see the sketch and participate in the monthly customer challenge, please visit Scrapbooks Plus.  You could win a gift certificate to the store.  How fun is that?!!!

I decided to use soft, beautiful Petaloo Flora Doodle flowers.  I love the gems in the center of each flower.  I also added two butterflies from the Jenni Bowlin collection.

The title was created using epoxy stickers from the Making Memories Pitter Patter Collection. The stickers I chose to use had these cute safety pins attached.  Just perfect!

Thanks for joining me today.
